Benefit from deeper post-operative recovery AND a speedier return to normal life.
The science behind deeper recovery
Photobiomodulation Therapy quickly reduces oxidative stress and the development of inflammation and is totally safe, comfortable and easy to apply.
Oxidative stress and inflammation are closely related. One of them may appear before or after the other but when one of them appears, the other is never far behind and both take part in the development of chronic disease (longer than three months).
Inflammation is good for you but not in the long run
Inflammation is a very necessary stage of repair: firstly, it washes out broken parts, stops bleeding and local swelling and secondly white cells come in and mop-up so that cells can lay down new structures. However, longer term, inflammation causes oxidative stress and cellular inefficiency.
What is oxidative stress?
Oxidative stress is caused by the increased formation of free radicals (reactive oxygen species, ROS for short) or decreased antioxidant (these are substances that remove free radicals) levels or both. Free radicals form during cellular respiration, the process that converts food into energy and involves the electron transport chain (one of the end products of the electron transport chain is ATP, the ‘fuel’ that powers cells).
Free radicals also come from external sources including radiation (x-rays), UV light, air pollutants and chemicals foreign to the body such as pesticides, drugs, cosmetics and flavourings.
Why free radicals are a problem
Free radicals are a double-edged sword: in small amounts they are an indication of a cell’s internal and external condition. However, in large amounts, the ability of antioxidants to clear free radicals is overwhelmed and if this continues chronic illness follows.
Take the opportunity and let science and Rupert Molloy lead you to a pain-free and healthier life.
Being older doesn’t mean leading a less fulfilling life.
The ageing process generally leads to a gradual loss of muscle mass and muscle performance. This in turn can result in greater dependence on others and a lack of independence – just when you want to really enjoy life. However, findings suggest that Photobiomodulation Therapy, in combination with strength training, improves muscle performance in elderly people.*
So what would you like to do more of?
How about competitive cycling, tennis, golf – maybe even football or rugby? Or show your grandchildren that you can keep up with them and join in their outdoor pursuits – well, most of the time! With greater strength and energy you can enjoy your later years just as you had always promised yourself you would.
